As the flickering magic of silent films captivates audiences across America, a determined young woman in Ithaca, New York dares to believe that the silver screen holds a place for her. When the Wharton Brothers bring their silent film studio to Renwick Park, Lucy Harmon sees her chance.

 It’s the dawn of the Jazz Age, prohibition is right around the corner, and Lucy is ready to embrace the new world. Determined to take control of her life, she embarks on a daring scheme. Along the way, friendships are forged, rivalries emerge, and romance blossoms in unexpected places.

 Supported by encouragement from women allies and African American friends, Lucy uses her quick-thinking, creativity and athletic skill to overcome self-doubt, confront unexpected roadblocks, and boldly defy traditional gender roles.
